Sello is co-founder of Thesele Group and has more than 24 years’ experience in financial services. He’s the former CEO of Old Mutual Asset Managers and former deputy CEO of Capital Alliance Asset Managers.
Sello is currently the non-executive chairman of Alexander Forbes Group Holdings Limited and Sibanye Gold Limited, and a non-executive director of General Reinsurance Africa and listed Stor-Age Limited. He is also a former director of the Industrial Development Corporation and listed companies Gold Fields, Makalani Holdings, Acucap Properties and Sycom Property Fund.
He is a trustee of the Nelson Mandela Foundation and chairs its Investment Committee. In 2003, the Association of Black Securities and Investment Professionals (ABSIP), of which he was the national president from 2005 to 2007, presented him with the Financial Services Pioneer Award.
